Jose Mourinho Appointed As Roma Manager From 2021-22 Season

has been appointed as AS manager in a surprise turn of events, just less than 2 weeks after being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur.

Mourinho has made a swift return to management after agreeing a three-year contract with the Italian Club. The Portuguese has previous experiences in the Italian top-flight, where he had worked with Inter and wasted little time in restoring the glory days for Nerazzurri.

The recently sacked Spurs manager has swiftly found himself a new job, with the 2 time Champions League Winner set to take charge of Roma from 2021-22 on a three-year contract.

When Jose Mourinho took charge of a struggling Spurs, fans were aware of what they were about to get from the Champion manager. But ever since, just like his previous stints he had fallen out with the club officials, players and most importantly the fans.

AS Roma by no means is a minnow when it comes to European football, but surely this move has signaled the end of an era.

José Mourinho confirmed his arrival with the following statement: “After meetings with the ownership, I immediately understood the full extent of their ambitions for AS Roma. The incredible passion of the Roma fans convinced me to accept the job and I cannot wait to start next season. Daje Roma!”.

Roma announced earlier in the day that they would part ways with current manager Paulo Fonseca after the end of current season. Although, few could have predicted Roma’s next move of appointing the Portuguese tactician.

Jose Mourinho also revealed that he had held long meetings with Roma officials before putting pen to paper, and immediately caught his eye with their ambitions.

Another tragic story? Only time will tell.
