Tennis Believes his greatness is not respected
Novak Djokovic’s father has declared that it is time for his son to receive the recognition he deserves.
Srdjan Djokovic has highlighted how his son is not respected sufficiently in the tennis industry, despite being the World No.1 one and having just secured his 18th Grand Slam at the Australian Open in Melbourne.
“It is always [Novak] against everyone,” he said in an interview with the Serbian newspaper ‘Kurir’.
He went on to highlight his son’s importance to his native country of Serbia.
“In the worst moment for the Serbian people he was sent by God to show that we are a normal people and not one of murderers and savages,” he said.
He added that his son will be able to surpass the 20 Grand Slams held by Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
“In the next year and a half he will be the best in all the standings,” he said.
